Van Buren has gone a perfect 10-0 against Siloam Springs recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Pointers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

Van Buren's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed back in March. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over Lexington. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pointers.

Siloam Springs came out on top against Gentry on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run sixth inning. The Panthers blew past the Pioneers 12-4.

Rhett Skarsten spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Siloam Springs got a massive performance out of Max Carter, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Carter is becoming a predictor of the Panthers' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 4-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Johnny Hyde, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Siloam Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

Siloam Springs' win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Van Buren, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Everything went Van Buren's way against Siloam Springs in their previous meeting back in March, as Van Buren made off with a 17-5 victory. Do the Pointers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
