The Bard Falcons were the 69-68 winner over the Anacostia Indians when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Bard fell 52-43 to Anacostia on Monday. Bard has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Bard had strong showings from Torrell Martin, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds, and Andre Wright, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. John Wright was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Bard has fallen quite a ways from their 24-7 record last season and are now at 3-12. As for Anacostia, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-6.
Bard will face off against Cardozo at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cardozo is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Anacostia, they will face off against Dunbar at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Dunbar's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
