It was another big night for Tradon Bessinger, who threw for 391 yards and six touchdowns while completing 73% of his passes. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Davis' leading receiver Jaxton Itaaehau was Bessinger's top target yet again, picking up 122 receiving yards and one TD.
Meanwhile, Lone Peak faced Farmington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Knights breezed past the Phoenix to the tune of 41-14. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Phoenix: they've now won four in a row.
Davis better keep an eye on Kepa Niumeitolu. He was instrumental in Lone Peak's win, throwing for 246 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt, and also catching one score. That's the most passing yards Niumeitolu has posted since back in September of 2024.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Lone Peak proved: they limited Farmington to a paltry 2.8 yards per carry. While seven picked up at least two total tackles, Tagg Zundel stood above the rest. He picked up two sacks, made two total tackles, and defended one pass. Lone Peak's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.5.
Lone Peak didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kingston Stroshine and Tevita Mounga. Mounga also made four total tackles, which is notable because Lone Peak is 5-2 when he posts at least three total tackles, but 1-2 otherwise.
Lone Peak's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Davis, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
Davis was taken down by Lone Peak 34-6 in their previous meeting back in November of 2018. Thankfully for the Darts, Kobe Freeman (who rushed for 90 yards and one TD on only nine carries, and also caught one score) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
