The Orlando Christian Prep Warriors had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 28-25 victory over Providence School on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for Orlando Christian Prep who now have three in a row.
Orlando Christian Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Avery Anderson led the charge by gaining 105 total yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Cameron Kurzon, who threw for 103 yards and three touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Providence School still got an impressive performance from Mason Williams, who threw for 219 yards and a touchdown.
Orlando Christian Prep pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.7 points per game. As for Providence School, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4.
Orlando Christian Prep will head out on the road to face off against Trinity Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Providence School does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
