It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Blue River Valley Vikings had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Golden Eagles with a sharp 47-22 victory. Blue River Valley pushed the score to 42-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Golden Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.
Blue River Valley was led to victory by Ella Schmidt and Charlee Gibson. Schmidt scored 12 points along with two steals, while Gibson dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Maciah Driskill, who scored two points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Blue River Valley's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Cambridge City Lincoln, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.
Blue River Valley will face off against the Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Indiana (Union City is ranked 267th, while the Vikings are ranked 243rd). Cambridge City Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
