The Forge Christian Fury suffered their biggest loss since December 9, 2023 on Wednesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 44-21 walloping at the hands of Jefferson Academy. Forge Christian has not had much luck with Jefferson Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Forge Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Jefferson Academy pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.
It was another big night for Elsa Nygren, who scored 24 points along with six steals and three blocks for Jefferson Academy. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nygren has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylin Chichirico, who scored five points along with nine steals.
Forge Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Jefferson Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4.
Forge Christian will square off against Middle Park at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Middle Park will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Jefferson Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Peak to Peak at 1:00 p.m. Peak to Peak is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
