Springfield has gone 6-0-1 against Maumee recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will host the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Maumee took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Springfield, who comes in off a win.

Springfield will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Northview on Monday. The Blue Devils blew past the Wildcats 13-3. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Maumee didn't have quite enough to beat Eastwood on Monday and fell 6-5. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hannah Ruiz was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Autumn Gugger made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. Taylor Smith was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Springfield's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-8. As for Maumee, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Everything went Springfield's way against Maumee in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Springfield made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
