Softball Recap: Juanita Wins Going Away Against Roosevelt

Juanita barely beat Roosevelt the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Ravens blew past the Roughriders 13-1 on Monday. The Ravens have beaten the Roughriders the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Roughriders has come to flipping the script.

Elliott Parker and Bella Hauck made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Parker tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Meanwhile, Hauck pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Parker went 2-for-4 with two RBI, while Hauck got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs. That's the most runs Hauck has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Calista Labugen was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Emiko Fukutomi also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Juanita hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matches.

Juanita now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Roosevelt, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7.

Juanita does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Roosevelt, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-3 defeat against Garfield on the 30th.
