It was a good run, but the John Curtis Christian Patriots unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 61-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Walker. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Walker got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kennedi Ard out in front who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The contest was Ard's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Jamiya Vann was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
John Curtis Christian's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-3. As for Walker, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. John Curtis Christian and Southern Lab will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Walker won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Natchitoches Central at 10:00 a.m. on December 23rd.
