After a string of three wins, the Lamar Christian Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 58-47 to Purvis. Lamar Christian lost against Purvis in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 61-45 score last time.
Purvis got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacoby Robinson out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds. The contest was Robinson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Tytus Bridges was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 8 steals and 7 assists.
Lamar Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Purvis, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Lamar Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sylva Bay Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. As for Purvis, they will head out on the road to face off against West Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
