On Friday Sargent take on Sangre de Cristo at 7-Mile Border War at 7:00 PM. Sargent have the odds in their favor, so they'll need to guard against complacency.
It was all tied up at the half for Sargent and Norwood last Friday, but Sargent stepped up in the second half. Sargent got past Norwood with less than a touchdown to spare, ending up at 27-22. Senior Frank Torrez, who rushed for 105 yards and 1 touchdown, was a major factor in Sargent's success. Torrez has been a consistent playmaker for Sargent as this was the 5th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, there's no need to mince words: Sangre de Cristo lost to Mancos, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 8-64. Sangre de Cristo were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-50.
Sargent took the game and then some with a 58-0 victory the last time the two teams met over Sangre de Cristo. Will Sargent repeat their success, or does Sangre de Cristo have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
