The Crestview Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They fell to Edison 53-48. Crestview lost against Edison in their previous head to head back in February of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 41-39 score last time.
Edison's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Moore, who scored eight points along with six steals and five rebounds. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for her. Stella Brown was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
Crestview bumped their record down to 1-9 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.5 points per game. As for Edison, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Crestview will head out on the road to face off against Plymouth at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Plymouth is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Edison, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Port Clinton at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Port Clinton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Edison in Ohio (Port Clinton is ranked 169th, while Edison is ranked 453rd).
