The Burncoat Patriots lost against the North Polar Bears back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Burncoat took a serious blow against North, falling 69-41. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Burncoat has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Burncoat still got an impressive performance from Jayden Mwangi, who scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Cheyton Marshall, who scored seven points.
Burncoat's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 5-2. As for North, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burncoat will take on Doherty Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Doherty Memorial is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for North, they will head out on the road to face off against South at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 145th, while North is ranked second).
