Softball Recap: Palm Desert Comes Up Short

After flying high against Palm Springs last Saturday, Palm Desert came back down to earth. The Palm Desert Aztecs came up short against the La Quinta Blackhawks on Tuesday, falling 13-1. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 4, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Palm Desert saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lilah Velasquez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.

Palm Desert now has a losing record of 3-4. As for La Quinta, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

While Palm Desert had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
