The Sealy Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Caldwell Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sealy's defense has only allowed 12.2 points per game this season, so Caldwell's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Sealy is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Madisonville: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Tigers blew the Mustangs out of the water with a 42-10 final score. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Kane Killough, who rushed for 181 yards and one score while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 295 yards and three TDs while completing 78.9% of his passes. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in November of 2024. 81 of Killough's passing yards were hauled in by Weston Cryan, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sealy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 322 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madisonville only rushed for 139.
Sealy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Brady Cranfill, Cryan, and Brandon Burditt picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Madisonville's side was Jadon Hernandez, who picked up a sack and made 14 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Caldwell entered their contest against La Grange on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Hornets came up short against the Leopards, falling 48-27.
Sealy will have to contain Coy Becka as he made an impact in Caldwell's last game. He rushed for 222 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Becka's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.
Even if they lost, Caldwell's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. La Grange's QB won't forget Rj Gonzales anytime soon given he sacked him twice.
The victory made it two in a row for Sealy and bumps their season record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.0 points over those games. As for Caldwell, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Sealy has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 240.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Caldwell struggles in that department as they've been averaging 183 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Sealy against Caldwell in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 43-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
