This season hasn't been kind to the Lutheran-Northeast Eagles, who are still winless after their seventh game. They took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Homer on Saturday. Lutheran-Northeast lost against Homer in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 58-52 score last time.
Defeat or not, Lutheran-Northeast got some senior leadership from Kealy Ranslem who scored 13 points and Delaney Rose-hancock who scored 11 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendra Petersen, who scored seven points.
It was another big night for Alexandra Albrecht, who scored 27 points along with eight rebounds and three steals for Homer. Those 27 points set a new season-high mark for her. Jocelyn Hightree was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Lutheran-Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Homer, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3.
Lutheran-Northeast will be home for the holidays to greet Pierce at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Homer is on the road again on Thursday and play against Bancroft-Rosalie at 6:00 p.m. on December 21st.
