Jovaughna Mendez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noehli Torres, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaelyn Whitaker, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Stafford hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 7-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
