The Old Saybrook Rams will square off against the Cromwell Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Old Saybrook has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Cromwell will arrive with seven straight victories.
Old Saybrook came up short against Morgan on Monday, falling 16-1.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cromwell). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Coginchaug Regional a 14-0 shutout on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Tyler Sandquist made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sandquist was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Cromwell got a massive performance out of Evan Ucol, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Ucol has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Danny Seabra, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Cromwell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coginchaug Regional didn't got any.
Cromwell's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Old Saybrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
