The Twiggs Academy Trojans lost against St. George's two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Twiggs Academy fell 50-43 to St. George's. Twiggs Academy has not had much luck with St. George's recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Twiggs Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Lavender, who scored 13 points. Lavender is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Megan Favors, who scored 11 points.
St. George's got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Perrin Boatright out in front who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mady Pye, who scored 14 points.
Twiggs Academy now has a losing record at 1-2. As for St. George's, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
Twiggs Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Crisp Academy at 6:00 p.m. St. George's will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Mount de Sales Academy at 6:00 p.m. on November 30th. Mount de Sales Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 380th, while St. George's is ranked 167th).
