The Scituate Sailors extended their postseason success on Friday against the Grafton Gators. They came out on top against the Gators by a score of 20-10. The win was nothing new for Scituate as they're now sitting on six straight.
Jackson Thomas Belsan was the offensive standout of the game as he punched in a rushing scores, and also threw for 195 yards and a touchdown while completing 73.7% of his passes.
Another reason for the win was Scituate's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Sean Coyne and Charles Murphy who racked up four sacks between them.
Despite the loss, Grafton still got an impressive performance from Finn Gilmore, who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown. Gilmore is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
Scituate pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.3 points per game. As for Grafton, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3.
Scituate is on the road again on Thursday and play against Hingham at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd. Hingham is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Grafton, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Millbury at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd. Millbury will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 169th, while Grafton is ranked 46th).
