The Christian Academy extended their losing streak  to three  on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 3-7 in the process. They came up short against  the Dock Mennonite Pioneers, falling  17-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Dock Mennonite this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  13-0  on April 2nd.
  Tori Townsend made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went a perfect 1-for-1 with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. That  home run marked the first that  she has  launched this season.
As for Dock Mennonite, their record is now 5-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 11  runs or more this season.
On Dock Mennonite's side,  Avery Kutzner made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out eight batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   two  hits (and only one walk). Kutzner has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Nora Osifchin, who  fired off four  doubles, four  RBI,  and two  runs while going 4-for-5.  Taelyn Landis was another key player,  going 1-for-4 with one  home run and three  RBI.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Christian Academy will head out to  take on King's Christian  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Dock Mennonite, they will venture away from home to  challenge Calvary Christian Academy  at 3:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Pioneers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 6.4  runs per game this season.
