Even though the Lockwood LIONS have not done well against the Fergus Golden Eagles recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Lockwood strolled past Fergus with points to spare, taking the game 64-50. This was payback for Lockwood, who suffered a 69-41 loss the last time these two teams met.
Fergus' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kason Brown, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Jensen, who scored 14 points.
Lockwood's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Fergus, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Lockwood will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fergus at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. As for Fergus, they will square off against Butte Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
