The Methodist Children's Home Bulldogs will face off against the Faustina Academy Falcons at TBD on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Methodist Children's Home had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They beat Grace Academy on Friday by the very same score they won with last week: 50-0. The victory was familiar territory for Methodist Children's Home who now have six in a row.
Daraun Taylor and Elijah Williams were among the main playmakers for Methodist Children's Home as the former rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown and the latter rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Taylor really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run.
Meanwhile, Faustina Academy took their matchup on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 52-6 victory over Community Christian. Given Faustina Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Community Christian is ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Damian Sipe was his usual excellent self, rushing for 100 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also catching a touchdown. Will Behan was in the mix as well, providing Faustina Academy with two touchdowns.
Methodist Children's Home pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Faustina Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.
