The Western Wildcats fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 14-6 victory over Miramar on Friday. Given Western's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Miramar is ranked 115th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The critical scores for Western came from Jaylon Edmond and Brendan Leal.
Western has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Miramar, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western will take on Coral Glades at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Miramar, they will play host again and welcome Everglades, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Everglades is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
