The Alchesay Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight loss. They fell to Page 58-52. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alchesay in their matchups with the Sand Devils: they've now lost six in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Alchesay lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brent Aday. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Aday has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chauncey Newhall, who scored 13 points.
Alchesay struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Page pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.
Page got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyree Stingley out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds. Stingley hasn't dropped below four steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Talon Herder, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Alchesay has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season. As for Page, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7.
Alchesay will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Thatcher's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests. Page does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
