We've got a battle between Hawks coming up. Viera is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
Last Wednesday, Viera was able to grind out a solid win over Palm Bay, taking the game 4-1. That's two games straight that the Hawks have won by exactly three runs.

03/29/24 @ Spruce Creek | 4 |
02/22/24 vs Seabreeze | 4 |
David Mastrolonardo tossed a big game, tossing 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dominic Leoni, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Viera hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, while Spruce Creek put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Seabreeze. Spruce Creek was the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Seabreeze. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won eight contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Spruce Creek also got a great performance from Garrett Grant as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. Grant has been consistent : he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Nathan Ricko was a standout: he scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Tyler Boyesen, who scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 1-for-3.
Viera pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Spruce Creek, their record now sits at 11-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Viera has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Spruce Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Viera skirted past Spruce Creek 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Viera since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
