The South Park Eagles won the last time they faced the Clairton Bears, and things went their way on Thursday too. South Park came out on top against Clairton by a score of 55-45. The win made it back-to-back wins for South Park.
Clairton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was DaShawn Hines, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Hines scored a full 28.9% of Clairton's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Taris Wooding, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
South Park's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-1. As for Clairton, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Park will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Southmoreland at 5:30 p.m. on December 27th. Clairton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Springdale at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Springdale presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Clairton in Pennsylvania (Springdale is ranked 146th, while Clairton is ranked 319th).
