Avon is 0-10 against Brownsburg since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Avon Orioles will head out on the road to face off against the Brownsburg Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Avon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Brownsburg likes a good challenge.
Avon pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 65-56 to Westfield. The contest was a 27-27 toss-up at halftime, but Avon was outscored by Westfield in the second.
Aniah Smith put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. Joyce Smiley was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Brownsburg was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 46-42 to Bedford North Lawrence. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Brownsburg has scored all season.
Avon's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Brownsburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
Avon came up short against Brownsburg in their previous meeting back in February, falling 55-47. Thankfully for Avon, Kailyn Terrell (who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
