The Moore Catholic Mavericks will venture away from home to face off against the St. Joseph-by-the-Sea Vikings at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Moore Catholic barely beat Regis the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mavericks blew past the Raiders 11-2 on Saturday.

NICHOLAS NEVILLE looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on BRIAN BADALAMENTI, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last nine games. The team also got some help courtesy of MATTHEW DOYLE, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph-by-the-Sea had already won 13 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it 14 on Friday. They never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The Vikings' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last four matches.
Not much got past Anthony Garofalo, who gave up just a hit to keep Monsignor Farrell off the board.
At the plate, Randy Rivera was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Vincent Petruzzelli was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
St. Joseph-by-the-Sea hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive contests.
Moore Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for St. Joseph-by-the-Sea, they pushed their record up to 21-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road.
Moore Catholic might still be hurting after the 8-2 defeat they got from St. Joseph-by-the-Sea in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Can the Mavericks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
