The Springtown Porcupines suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Decatur, falling 98-19. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Springtown has scored all season.
Springtown lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Chloe Kirk, who scored two points along with three steals. Kirk has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Springtown struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Decatur's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addy Kemp, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kemp has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Bralyn Peck, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Springtown's defeat dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Decatur, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-5.
Springtown will be playing in front of their home fans against Krum at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Krum is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Decatur, they will head out on the road to take on Castleberry at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Castleberry is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
