The Loudon Redskins will venture away from home to face off against the Heritage Mountaineers at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Loudon's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They skirted past Lenoir City 2-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 26, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Not much got past Boston Montooth, who gave up just four hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Lenoir City off the board. Montooth is becoming a predictor of Loudon's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is undefeated (and 10-16 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, Eli Kelso was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Loudon is 5-1 when Kelso posts two or more stolen bases, but 8-15 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Heritage entered their tilt with South-Doyle on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Cherokees with a sharp 12-2 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Mountaineers have posted against the Cherokees since April 7, 2022.
Derek Hodge looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gavin Hughes, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ethan Marcum, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Heritage's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-10. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Loudon, their record is now 13-16.
Loudon might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Heritage when the teams last played last Tuesday. Can the Redskins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
