Mandarin had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 17-25, 19-25, 25-15, 25-23, 15-13.
Kyla Hollis paced Mandarin's offense, picking up 16 kills. Hollis got some help from Madison Cady and her 32 assists. Rayna Joquin controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.
Mandarin's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for New Smyrna Beach, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
