Jefferson and University squared off in some playoff action  on Friday, but Jefferson had to settle for second. They took  an  11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. The Cougars' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
 Jersey Rummel was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. That's the fewest  hits  she has allowed since back in April. She was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run.
 In other batting news,  Chloe Cowan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 3-for-4 with three  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double.  Caroline ABE was another key player,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  stolen bases and two  runs.
Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 22-5. As for University, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-5-1 record  this season.
As of now, neither Jefferson nor University have any future games scheduled.
