KIPP King scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 93-49 victory over Oakland Unity on the road. KIPP King has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 27 points or more this season.
David Rogers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 16 rebounds. He also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Ledezma, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, the matchup between Leadership and Madison Park Academy on Wednesday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. Leadership put the hurt on Madison Park Academy with a sharp 71-50 victory. Leadership has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.
KIPP King's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.67 points. As for Leadership, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
KIPP King was able to grind out a solid win over Leadership in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 59-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for KIPP King since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
