Two dominant in Markiest Houston and Miles Leaks are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Rocky River Ravens will be playing at home against the Piedmont Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Rocky River had to settle for a 53-51 loss against East Mecklenburg. Rocky River has struggled against East Mecklenburg recently, as their match on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Houston, who scored 14 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. He scored a full 27.5% of Rocky River's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Shamari Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Rocky River were working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Mecklenburg only racked up ten.
Meanwhile, Piedmont came up short against Marvin Ridge on Friday and fell 54-47. While losing is never fun, Piedmont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 300th, while Marvin Ridge is ranked 116th).

Palisades' win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Rocky River's loss dropped theirs to 3-5.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Rocky River and Piedmont are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Rocky River hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 64.2 points per game. However, it's not like Piedmont struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 53 per game.
