On Friday, Thornwell took a serious blow against Ninety Six, falling 61-10. Thornwell was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-6.
Janiyah Squire was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds for Ninety Six. The contest was Squire's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Katie Fortner was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Thornwell's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Ninety Six, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Thornwell will be playing at home against Calhoun Falls Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Ninety Six, they will head out on the road to face off against Mid-Carolina at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mid-Carolina will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
