The Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos will face off against the Clinton Prairie Gophers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Clinton Prairie will be up against a hot Lafayette Jefferson team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Everything went the Bronchos' way against Seeger on Monday as they made off with an 11-1 win.
Reagan Hipsher made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rilee Clifton, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ahni Harper, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Lafayette Jefferson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Clinton Prairie never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against Fountain Central as they made off with a 14-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Gophers, who have now won five games in a row.
Like Lafayette Jefferson, Clinton Prairie also got a great game from a two-way player: Maddy Wessell. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Wessell was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kaydence Kesler was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Kadie Fearnow was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs.
Clinton Prairie's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Lafayette Jefferson, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lafayette Jefferson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .367. However, it's not like Clinton Prairie struggles in that department as they've averaged .399. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
