Basketball Recap: New Life Christian Academy Takes a Loss

New Life Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Mount Hope Christian Academy Warriors and fell 74-31. One positive for the Lions, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Mount Hope Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but MCKENNA JONES led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance also gave JONES a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was LANDRI FLOHR, who went 7 of 8 on her way to 21 points along with five assists and five steals.

New Life Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Mount Hope Christian Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.

New Life Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Victory Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th. As for Mount Hope Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Parkersburg Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
