The Hilmar Yellowjackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 73-46 loss at the hands of Riverbank. Hilmar has struggled against Riverbank recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Xavier Silveira and Seth Russel certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Silveira scored 17 points, while Russel scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Russel has scored all season.
Hilmar has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season. As for Riverbank, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
Hilmar will be playing in front of their home fans against Ripon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ripon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hilmar in California (Ripon is ranked 355th, while Hilmar is ranked 1130th). As for Riverbank, they will head out on the road to take on Escalon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Escalon is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
