Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only University walked away with it. They came out on top against the Rio Hondo Prep Kares by a score of  4-1  on Friday. The  victory was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won five  matches in a row.
 Carson Cruz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on seven hits and racked up nine Ks.

The Gladiators will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  victory, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rio Hondo Prep, they will host Taft  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Kares will need to watch out since the Toreadors have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last three games.
