Pikesville is 6-0 against Patapsco since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. Pikesville stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Eastern Tech 72-17 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Pikesville has posted since December 13, 2023.
Pikesville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mariah Jones-Bey led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Bree Taylor, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Patapsco suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were dealt a 58-24 loss at the hands of New Town. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Patapsco in their matchups with New Town: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the defeat, Patapsco had strong showings from Aaliyah Sanders, who scored six points along with two steals, and Kayla Gross, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds and two steals. Gross is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played.
Pikesville's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Patapsco, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
Everything came up roses for Pikesville against Patapsco in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 61-25 win. With Pikesville ahead 38-10 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
