The Mountain Vista Golden Eagles will face off against the Castle View Sabercats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain Vista is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
On Friday, everything came up roses for Mountain Vista against Rock Canyon as the team secured a 54-7 win. Considering the Golden Eagles have won seven contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

It was another big night for Marquise Reese, who threw for 365 yards and six TDs while completing 72% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Those six passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Brooklyn Bailey was another key player, picking up 156 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Mountain Vista didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Rock Canyon to a completion percentage of just 47.6%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Xavier Borel and Noah Cella, who each logged one passes deflected. Mountain Vista has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.63 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.63 in their last three games.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Castle View and ThunderRidge meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Sabercats fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 13-10.
Mountain Vista will have to contain Carter Henman as he made an impact in Castle View's last game. He rushed for 167 yards and one TD.
Castle View dropped their record down to 4-5 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Mountain Vista, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's game: Mountain Vista has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 385.7 total yards per game. It's a different story for Castle View, though, as they've been averaging only 167.6 total yards. Will Mountain Vista be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Sabercats flip the script?
Everything came up roses for Mountain Vista against Castle View in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 49-7 win. Do the Golden Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Sabercats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
