The Pioneer-Pleasant Vale Mustangs will be playing at home against the Yale Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Friday, Pioneer-Pleasant Vale was beaten by Drumright 70-24. While losing is never fun, Pioneer-Pleasant Vale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Drumright is ranked third).
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 76-30, which was the final score in Yale's tilt against Regent Prep last Friday. Yale has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Yale's defeat came about despite a quality game from Cornelius Prather, who threw for 186 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Minney, who picked up 77 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The losses dropped Pioneer-Pleasant Vale to 1-6 and Yale to 5-3.
Everything came up roses for Pioneer-Pleasant Vale against Yale in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 50-0 victory. Does Pioneer-Pleasant Vale have another victory up their sleeve, or will Yale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
