The Lakeside Panthers lost against the Grovetown Warriors back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Lakeside took a 62-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. Lakeside has struggled against the Warriors recently, as their match on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Lakeside's loss came despite strong showings from Mi?keal Grissom and Ty Jones. Grissom scored 16 points along with six rebounds, while Jones scored ten points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Grissom has scored all season. Bryce Reynierson was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Grovetown, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.
Lakeside will head out on the road to take on the Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. South Effingham is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Grovetown, they will be playing at home against the Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Brunswick's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests.
