Cherryvale entered their tilt with Neodesha on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Blue Streaks by a score of 9-5. That's more bragging rights for the Chargers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Peyton Modich spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Luke Elliot was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Cherryvale is 6-1 when Elliot posts two or more runs, but 3-11 otherwise. Ethan Umbarger was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Cherryvale's win bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Neodesha, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-5-2.

Cherryvale will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Blue Streaks: the pair will be back at it again later today.
