The Belle Plaine Tigers will head out to square off against the St. Peter Saints at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Belle Plaine has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Belle Plaine blew Randolph out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Randolph got their revenge. The Tigers fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 14-12. On the bright side, the 12- run performance marked the Tigers' highest-scoring matchup to date.
Nolan Swenson put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base was his first of the season.
In other pitching news, Belle Plaine got a good showing from Waylon Friendshuh, who struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Friendshuh has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, St. Peter entered their tilt with Hutchinson on Monday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 6-2. That's two games straight that the Saints have won by exactly four runs.
Belle Plaine dropped their record down to 6-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for St. Peter, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
