The New Mexico Military Institute Colts are taking a road trip to face off against the Bosque Bobcats at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Bosque will be up against a hot New Mexico Military Institute squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Colts blew past Sandia Prep 20-1 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Colts, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Javier Yepiz Galindo was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. New Mexico Military Institute is undefeated when Yepiz Galindo posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Grant Maloney also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: New Mexico Military Institute lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bosque). They were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over Varsity Opponent on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bobcats as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.
Drew Hebert was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hebert was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Bosque let Luca Kalishman and Tas Lupo run wild. Kalishman went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double, while Lupo went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Kalishman continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Everett Hebert, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.
The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-13. As for New Mexico Military Institute, their record now sits at 13-6.
Bosque's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: New Mexico Military Institute has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .455. It's a different story for Bosque, though, as they've only averaged .364. Will they be able to contain New Mexico Military Institute's hitters?
New Mexico Military Institute took their victory against Bosque in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 22-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colts since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
