The Paul VI Panthers will head out on the road to take on the St. John's Cadets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Paul VI took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Flint Hill a 14-0 shutout. The Panthers have beaten the Huskies the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Huskies has come to flipping the script.

Elizabeth Sullivan looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Natalie Monroe, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Farrell, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Paul VI kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 8-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, St. John's got the win against Saint John Paul the Great Catholic on Thursday by a conclusive 19-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cadets.
St. John's let Devyn Johnson and Cameran Corbett run wild. Johnson went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI, while Corbett went 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Corbett is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Yasmin Burrell, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double.
Paul VI's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. John's, their record is now 11-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Paul VI hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like St. John's struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Paul VI's way against St. John's in their previous meeting back in April, as Paul VI made off with an 11-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
