The Valley Christian Trojans will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the St. Francis Golden Knights at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 12 to 4 on the offensive boards, a fact Valley Christian proved on Saturday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 70-42 victory over Arizona College Prep. Given Valley Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Arizona College Prep is ranked 71st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Valley Christian can attribute much of their success to Austin Wallace, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, and Luke Shaw, who scored 32 points along with three steals. The contest was Shaw's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Kyle Grier was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, St. Francis scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Maranatha 69-41 at home. Winning may never get old, but St. Francis sure is getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Valley Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for St. Francis, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
