College Park had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Willis Wildkats a 2-0 shutout. This was payback for the Cavaliers, who suffered a 5-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

College Park's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 9-7. As for Willis, they moved to 12-4 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, College Park is taking a road trip to challenge Caney Creek at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Willis, they will host New Caney at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
